Scope
This site is an informational website. It involves no online sales, no user accounts and no newsletter, and it performs no cross-site advertising tracking.
Processing operations
The list below is exhaustive for this site.
The contact form
- Data
- Your name, your email address, and the text of your message. Optionally your phone number, your company name and your website address. Added to that are the page you wrote from and the subject you selected.
- Purpose
- Receiving your enquiry, sending you an acknowledgement, and answering you.
- Legal basis
- Your consent, given by submitting the form, and our legitimate interest in handling a business enquiry addressed to us.
- Retention
- For as long as the exchange lasts, then three years from the last contact. Any quote or invoice arising from it falls under the seven-year accounting obligation.
- Recipients
- Brevo, a French company, which delivers both emails, and Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, the site's host. No other recipient. The data is not used for advertising purposes.
Limiting the number of submissions
- Data
- A one-way fingerprint of your IP address, computed by hashing, with the timestamps of your submissions. The address itself is not kept.
- Purpose
- Stopping a robot from sending hundreds of messages, which would make the studio's inbox unusable.
- Legal basis
- Our legitimate interest in keeping the form working.
- Retention
- One hour, after which the fingerprint is ignored and then deleted.
- Recipients
- Nobody. The fingerprint never leaves the server.
Server logs
- Data
- Your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the response code, and your browser identifier. The server writes these lines for every visit, with no cookie and no script.
- Purpose
- Serving pages, diagnosing a fault, and spotting an attack.
- Legal basis
- Our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.
- Retention
- Thirteen months at most.
- Recipients
- Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, the site's host. The server is located in Europe. Amazon Web Services is a subsidiary of a US company and is therefore subject to United States legislation on data access.
The check that you are not a program
- Data
- Your IP address and technical signals from your browser, sent to Cloudflare to establish that you are not a program.
- Purpose
- Protecting the form from automated submissions.
- Legal basis
- Our legitimate interest in the security of the service. This check is necessary for the form to work and serves nothing else.
- Retention
- For the duration of the check. Cloudflare applies its own retention periods, documented in its policy.
- Recipients
- Cloudflare, an American company with infrastructure in Europe. Any transfer outside the Union relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Audience measurement
- Data
- The pages viewed, the page or search engine that brought you, your country, your device and browser type. Nothing is stored in your browser, and no fingerprint is built from your IP address.
- Purpose
- Knowing which pages are read and where visits come from, for all visitors rather than a fraction of them.
- Legal basis
- Our legitimate interest in knowing the traffic to our own site. This counting does not require your consent because it does not identify you, does not follow you from one site to another, and serves no one but us.
- Retention
- We keep no data on our side. Cloudflare keeps aggregated statistics, in which there is no way to find you.
- Recipients
- Cloudflare, Inc., an American company, which produces these statistics and contractually undertakes not to reuse them. The transfer to the United States is framed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
No cookie is set on this site, and you have no banner to refuse. Audience measurement stores nothing in your browser: it counts pages viewed without identifying anyone, which is why it requires no consent. Should we one day install a tool that does store something, it would be announced here and nothing would load before your choice.
Your rights
European regulation gives you the right to access your data, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a readable format, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where processing rests on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without having to give a reason.
Write to hello@antartica.studio. We answer within a month. If we need to verify your identity we will ask, and we will ask for nothing beyond what is necessary.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels.
